Elle se joue d'abord dans les t\u00eates, celles des chercheurs capables d'imaginer ces outils, de les tester, puis de les faire \u00e9voluer. Le centre r\u00e9unit une \u00e9quipe pluridisciplinaire de chercheurs maliens entomologistes, bio-informaticiens, \u00e9pid\u00e9miologistes, \u00e9cologues, sp\u00e9cialistes de la r\u00e9glementation, de l'engagement communautaire et de la communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L'objectif du centre est de placer les scientifiques africains au c\u0153ur de la lutte contre les maladies vectorielles qui touchent durement le continent. Concr\u00e8tement, cela veut dire leur donner les moyens d'acqu\u00e9rir et d'affiner des comp\u00e9tences pointues en g\u00e9nie g\u00e9n\u00e9tique, jusqu'\u00e0 la modification g\u00e9n\u00e9tique des moustiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette ambition ne peut se concr\u00e9tiser sans des infrastructures \u00e0 la hauteur. Le laboratoire install\u00e9 \u00e0 l'USTTB de Bamako r\u00e9pond aux normes de confinement  de niveau 2 pour les arthropodes (Arthropod Containment Level 2, ACL2) , une certification exigeante, gage de conformit\u00e9 avec les standards internationaux pour les travaux sur les organismes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement modifi\u00e9s. Il sert aussi de terrain d'apprentissage pour la nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de chercheurs africains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce aux partenariats strat\u00e9giques \u00e9tablis avec l'Universit\u00e9 de Keele et la Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), au Royaume-Uni, l'\u00e9quipe a pu approfondir son expertise en biologie des vecteurs et en g\u00e9n\u00e9tique mol\u00e9culaire une base solide pour, \u00e0 terme, d\u00e9velopper sa propre offre de formation africaine. Cette collaboration Nord-Sud n'est pas anodine : elle trace la voie vers une v\u00e9ritable autonomie scientifique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Un pari sur l'avenir<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former des chercheurs \u00e0 la modification g\u00e9n\u00e9tique des moustiques, c'est b\u00e2tir une capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9ponse durable face \u00e0 des menaces sanitaires qui, elles, ne cessent d'\u00e9voluer. Chaque scientifique form\u00e9, chaque laboratoire mis aux normes, chaque partenariat conclu vient renforcer un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de recherche plus r\u00e9silient capable, demain, de concevoir et de faire adopter localement les outils qui manquent encore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 l'occasion de la Journ\u00e9e mondiale du moustique, le 20 ao\u00fbt 2026, ces initiatives rappellent une \u00e9vidence : la meilleure arme contre les moustiques vecteurs de maladies n'est pas seulement technologique.
