Organis\u00e9 \u00e0 Nairobi, au Kenya, cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement majeur a r\u00e9uni plus de 300 membres de la communaut\u00e9 de la lutte antivectorielle, notamment des chercheurs, des experts en sant\u00e9 publique et des partenaires techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1059\" src=\"https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-1920x1059.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-754\" srcset=\"https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-1920x1059.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-1280x706.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-768x424.jpg 768w, https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-1536x847.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-2048x1129.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/acemeafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_2306-18x10.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En tant que doctorant malien, mes recherches portent sur la biologie mol\u00e9culaire et le g\u00e9nie g\u00e9n\u00e9tique des moustiques. Ces deux domaines en pleine \u00e9volution ouvrent aujourd\u2019hui des perspectives sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent pour la lutte contre les vecteurs du paludisme. Participer \u00e0 un tel atelier a \u00e9t\u00e9 pour moi une occasion exceptionnelle de sortir de mon laboratoire et de me confronter aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s du terrain, aux politiques publiques et aux derni\u00e8res innovations en mati\u00e8re de lutte contre le paludisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019un des principaux atouts de cet atelier \u00e9tait la diversit\u00e9 des th\u00e8mes abord\u00e9s. J\u2019ai eu la chance d\u2019assister \u00e0 des pr\u00e9sentations de haut niveau sur des sujets qui sont actuellement au c\u0153ur du d\u00e9bat scientifique mondial :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Innovative<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Les technologies g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques innovantes, en particulier les approches bas\u00e9es sur le g\u00e8ne-moteur, les moustiques g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement modifi\u00e9s ou la l\u00e2cher de moustiques st\u00e9riles. Ces outils repr\u00e9sentent une voie prometteuse pour r\u00e9duire durablement les populations de vecteurs dans les r\u00e9gions o\u00f9 le paludisme est end\u00e9mique.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La gestion de la r\u00e9sistance aux insecticides, un d\u00e9fi majeur en Afrique subsaharienne, o\u00f9 les moustiques d\u00e9veloppent des m\u00e9canismes de r\u00e9sistance de plus en plus sophistiqu\u00e9s. J\u2019ai eu le privil\u00e8ge de m\u2019entretenir avec des scientifiques de renomm\u00e9e internationale dont les travaux ont fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 ma propre compr\u00e9hension de la lutte antivectorielle. Ces discussions informelles autour d\u2019un caf\u00e9 entre les sessions m\u2019ont permis de mieux saisir les d\u00e9fis de la recherche translationnelle, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la transition entre la d\u00e9couverte en laboratoire et l\u2019application sur le terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des groupes de travail o\u00f9 nous avons explor\u00e9 de nouvelles approches de la lutte contre les moustiques. Ces moments de partage d\u2019informations et de travail collectif ont \u00e9t\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement stimulants : ils m\u2019ont montr\u00e9 que la science progresse v\u00e9ritablement lorsque des chercheurs de diff\u00e9rents pays, des d\u00e9cideurs politiques et les communaut\u00e9s locales travaillent main dans la main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019un des th\u00e8mes qui m\u2019a le plus tenu \u00e0 c\u0153ur lors de cet atelier \u00e9tait le renforcement des capacit\u00e9s de recherche sur le continent africain. Trop souvent, les innovations sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es ailleurs puis adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 nos contextes locaux. Pourtant, au cours de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, j\u2019ai senti un d\u00e9sir croissant de remodeler cette dynamique.
